I grew up in Langdon, ND, the oldest of three girls. My dad was a farmer and my mom is in education. I first attended to NDSU for Agribusiness then went back to school after a year for a degree in English Education from Minnesota State University, Moorhead.
My first teaching job was in Renville, MN. That year I decided I was too far from home and found a teaching job in Cavalier, ND. I taught junior high and high school English, Speech, and Mass Media.
Two years ago I took a job with EduTech, North Dakota’s K-12 education technology branch of ITD. I work primarily with PowerSchool, the student information system and grading program all public schools in North Dakota use. Since the job allowed me to live anywhere, I decided to move to Grand Forks because it has the closest Target to home.
I became active in YP to meet other young people in the community. I joined the Marketing Committee and have created many videos and helped with other marketing materials. In addition to YP, I am also active in P.E.O., a women’s organization helping other women achieve their educational goals.
My name is Jill Baird and I am a YP!
