Did you know that Grand Forks has a really talented Symphony Orchestra? I had heard something about it years ago when I was a student in the UND Music Department. But now, I’m on the Board of Directors for the Symphony, and this year is panning out to be a great one! The Symphony has an active year of concerts, parties, and other events in the works.
The year kicks off this coming Thursday, October 3 with a “RUSSIAN” (get it?… rushing…) The Season Promotional Party! It’s going to be a great party! Here are some details of the event: Cocktail Attire please… dress up and have a nice time! The event is from 5:30 to 7:30 at ‘l Bistro in the CanadInn. You will receive a complimentary glass of wine, Hors d’oeuvres by Canad Inn’s chef – you will meet Alexander Platt, GGFSO Conductor, AND meet violinist, Tim Fain, featured in Black Swan, (he will be the guest artist for the October 5th GGFSO concert, in case you are looking for a classy date night with your significant other…).
You can also enter a raffle to win a weekend getaway in Winnipeg! For tickets: Please send $25 payable to GGFSO to Bonnie Sobolik, 625 41st Ave. S. Grand Forks, ND 58201 For more info please call 701-775-5934 or email.
Oh… and about that classy date thing: the GGFSO concert on Saturday, October 5 starts at 7:30 at the Empire Arts Center, and it’s only $16 per person, less if you’re a student or military ($10).
